As announced in a message from President Richard C. Benson and Provost Inga Musselman, in-person Fall 2020 commencement activities and ceremonies – including Doctoral Hooding – will not take place. Please watch this site and monitor your UT Dallas email for more details about rescheduling of commencement ceremonies.

What is the difference between Commencement and Graduation?

Commencement is the ceremony that celebrates your graduation. UT Dallas students who participate in commencement ceremonies are considered “candidates” for graduation. Graduation is the official confirmation that you met all your degree requirements and that your degree has been conferred.
