Under ‘Swap This Class’, select the class from your schedule for which you want to remove if you are enrolled from the waitlist.
Under ‘With This Class’, either (1) choose Search for Class and click on Search or (2) enter the class number of the waitlist course and click on ‘enter’.

If searching for the waitlisted class, Uncheck the box for ‘Show Open Classes Only’ so that wait listed courses will appear in your search.

In the class detail information, look for the Class Availability section. It will show you what the max number of students that can waitlist (Wait List Capacity) and how many are currently waitlisted for the class (Wait List Total).

Select the class you want to waitlist for.

When selecting the course, check the ‘Wait list if class is full’ box and then click on ‘Next’.

Confirm your selections and then click “Finish Swapping.”

Review your schedule. You should still be enrolled in the class you will be swapping out of and waitlisted for the class you want to swap into.

How to Swap One Section of a Multiple Component Course
A multiple component course is one that requires you to be enrolled in more than one section of the same course.
Examples
- MATH 2413 requires a lecture, a lab, and a common exam section.
- BIOL 3455 requires a lecture, a lab, and a common exam section.
For these courses you ‘enroll’ in one section and then select the other section as a ‘related section’. If the course has a common exam, it is usually included as an auto-enrollment that you do not need to select.
To see if you can make a swap on these, you must know which is the ‘enrolled’ and which is the ‘related’ section.
Click on the class in your student center to see the Class Details. If the class has units and a grading basis then it is the ‘enrolled’ section and you will have to contact your advisor about swapping sections.

If the class shows 0.00 units and Non Graded, then it is the ‘related’ section, and you can use the edit function if you want to remain enrolled in the enrolled section of a class and change the related section. See the video instructions on Registration Procedures page on the Registrar’s website.
